How to Measure Your Head for a Hat
1. Grab a soft measuring tape (or use a string and a ruler).
2. Wrap it around your head, placing it about 1 inch (2–3 cm) above your eyebrows and just above your ears.
3. Make sure the tape is snug but not tight, and keep it level all the way around.
4. Note the measurement where the tape meets.
Tip: Measure twice for accuracy.
If you’re between sizes, sizing up usually gives a more comfortable fit.
Hair matters! Do you wear extensions? Did you shave your head? You will need to size up or down.
Shoot me a message and I can help you figure it out.
How to Properly Store a Hat
• Store your felt hat in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight to preserve its color and shape.
• DO NOT store your hat in your car.
• Always rest the hat upside down on its crown or on a proper hat stand—never on the brim (unless its a flat brim hat).
• Keep it in a hat box or dust bag to protect it from dust and moisture.
• Avoid hanging your hat on hooks, which can distort the shape over time.
• If storing long-term, allow space around the hat so it can breathe.
Tip: Before storing, make sure your hat is clean and completely dry to maintain its quality and longevity.
How to Clean a Felt Hat
• Begin with a soft-bristle hat brush, lint roller, or a lint-free cloth to remove dust. Brush lightly in a counterclockwise motion, following the natural direction of the felt.
• For light marks, use a clean, dry sponge or hat eraser, dabbing gently—never rubbing aggressively.
• For more stubborn stains and marks, 600-1000 grit sandpaper can be used.
• If needed, hold the hat briefly over steam (from a kettle or shower) to relax the fibers, then reshape softly with your hands.
• Allow the hat to air dry naturally, away from heat or direct sunlight.
Important Notes
• Never submerge a felt hat in water.
• Avoid household cleaners or detergents—they can damage the felt and alter the finish.
